It's cold and dismal for 'Spring' on the East Coast, but I've got some hot stuff here today! It's even bringing me around from my blogging funk (thanks for being patient during my self-imposed hiatus, and thanks especially to the four of you that noticed I was gone and asked after me!)
Joanie and Ryan were married in Cozumel last November, and were kind enough - and smart enough! - to let their photographers follow them around all the way until the end of the night.... right up to their honeymoon boudoir. Or, as Joanie calls it, the - well, I'll just let her tell you herself:
"I’d like to think that I came up with the idea to have my photographers follow us to our room all on my own, but it’s very possible I saw it on a blog somewhere and experienced a Liz Lemon moment of creativity (Dale Snitterman, anybody?).
All I know is I wanted the photographers to capture whatever moments occur along
the way from the dance floor to the (sorry, mom) MARITAL BOOM BOOM ROOM.
Because our reception was a dancing and frolicking festival of moment (we danced a lot) we were sweaty and disheveled by the time it was last call. So the photos taken at the very end of the night captured a time when we really didn’t give a crap about anything. The wedding was over and we were so happy with how amazing everything turned out. We were done posing for pictures and were at that point of giddiness where all we could possibly do was laugh. That’s probably what I love the most about these pictures… they caught us at a time when happiness had reached its boiling point and laughter took over.
We laughed all through our vows too, but I’m still trying to figure out what we found so
freaking hilarious about them."

Do you love it?! I do. And I think it's a perfectly romantic, sweet, and still-sexy alternative to a traditional boudoir shoot. Did you ever consider letting your wedding photogs come up to your newlywed suite? Will you now? (And more importantly - will you forever refer to your suite as the "Marital Boom Boom Room"? You have to! It's too good not to.)
See more of Joanie and Ryan, plus amazing shots of her dress (made by her mom!) in the gallery.
